The Inner Mountain Incense Burner mainly consists of a transparent acrylic mountain-shaped cover and a solid wood base box. In its new condition, the incense burner resembles a crystal-clear mountain peak, with the faintly visible mountain body, serene and tranquil. After starting to use it, under the nourishment of each incense stick, the transparent mountain gradually takes on a faint yellow outline from the smoke. With time and thoughts drifting like smoke, the unseen mountain becomes clearer and clearer. From “hidden” to “seen” is an accumulation of time, stick by stick of incense. Only by spending time with oneself can one see the mountain deep within one’s heart. “In everyone’s heart, there is an unseen mountain.”

The undulating mountains are designed as a negative shape, ingeniously integrated into the orderly array of acrylic sheets. The lit incense smoke spreads through the gaps between the mountains and acrylic, like the breath from the mountains, fresh and natural.
“Using smoke as ink and time as a brush, paint an unfinished landscape scroll.”
A More Modern Incense Ceremony
The incense ceremony is an elevated traditional life art, popular among ancient noble scholars and literati. Through incense appreciation, sensory connection, incense techniques, and incense practice, it provides a high-taste spiritual practice that allows us to experience and understand life. High-quality incense can calm the mind and stabilize emotions. However, the traditional incense ceremony is too complicated, limiting this elegant oriental practice to a very small audience. The designer hopes to make the incense ceremony more modern and suitable for the lifestyle of contemporary urban people.
“Every era has its own elegance.”
In collaboration with Taiwan’s top incense brand “FushanKodo”, sandalwood incense sticks are created using old mountain sandalwood from India as the main raw material.
Made entirely of natural materials without chemical additives, the fragrance is elegant and sweet. Enjoying a good sandalwood stick can soothe your emotions and calm your mind.

The Philosophy of “Hidden”
In thousands of years of Chinese culture, seclusion has been an eternal topic. From Zhuangzi’s “Free and Easy Wandering” to Tao Yuanming’s “Return to Fields and Gardens” and Liu Yuxi’s “Inscription of a Humble Room”, these works reflect the reclusive sentiments of scholars throughout history. The culture of seclusion pursues simplicity and inner peace, not seeking worldly recognition for “hidden”, and finding joy in solitude for “leisure”. Being true to one’s inner self, a contented heart leads to a carefree life.
